We here at Magnolia Down Under Challenges feel that in order to grow as crafters you need to step outside of your comfort zone sometimes, and to do that we need to give you challenges that DO challenge you. This one was one of those and I can tell you it even had a few of the DT scratching their heads and asking "why???". But you have to agree that the DT and you guys stepped up and came up with some AMAZING creations! But don't stress - we won't always make you think too hard ;)

What I love about a sketch is that the same layout can look so different and so incredible in so many different ways. Usually we are looking at a variety of layouts and they can be the difference when it comes to voting but with a sketch everyone starts on a similar playing field. I wasn't too sure about this clown when I first saw her - there's just something about clowns a lot of people don't like - but I have to say I have fallen in love with this cutie. The way Giada has coloured her and used her in our sketch - all I can say is WOW! She looks so soft and vintage - and the texture of the frantage powders just adds so much to the design. As one of the MDUC DT gals said - "Who knew buttons could look so good?". Well obviously you guys did because we just LOVED the way you used them in your creations this week! WOW, what can we say!! 36 Entrants into our Design Team Call.... it did actually make choosing our 2 new members very difficult.

So we decided to pick 4 instead!

We just could not make up our minds! I felt like a Cardinal at the Conclave voting for a new Pope! (Well not really) All that was missing was the Sistine Chapel and a 100 or so Cardinals with some white smoke!! (okay now I am getting carried away!!)

As you know, it was a whole team vote, just like we do for our winners and top 5 each and every week. Everyone gets to say their bit:-) We are more than a team we are a family:-) Therefore picking the right people was extremely important to us. We just didn't pick on your talents alone, we took so many aspects into consideration

The soft pastel colour palette from our Easter picture certainly inspired some fabulous designs from all of you. It was lovely to see the softer tones used in so many ways with yellow featuring on many creations - it's a colour that I believe can be often overlooked in preference to pinks, blues and browns. Oh My - what can I say about this beautiful creation apart from WOW! I just love the way Mel has coloured up Tilda and then set her perfectly amongst lace, ribbon, flowers and cheesecloth.
