Magnolia Down Under Challenge #164 Pop Up Card

Welcome back to another fun filled week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges.
We have a really great challenge for you this week together with a brilliant tutorial by our talented and lovely  Camilla S.

But first, we have a DT announcement.
A few weeks ago, we were faced with the very sad news that Eulanda had decided to say good bye to us here at MDUC. Eulanda will always be one of the MDUC family and it is terribly sad to see her go. She is an amazing girl, full of fun and very much loved by us all.
Thank you so much Eulanda for being a part of our DT. You gave us so much more than creative inspiration.

But every cloud has a silver lining.
There was only one thing we could do to cheer ourselves up here at MDUC - we needed to add a new member to our DT family.
We are over the moon to welcome Camilla H as our newest DT member.
I am sure Camilla needs no introduction, her stunning entries here week after week either winning or coming in our Top 5. Her elegant creations always blowing us away.  She is as talented as she is a darling of the craft world.
A big welcome from all of us Camilla.

And now... down to business!!
Our brilliant sponsor this week is....
Tilda's Town!
Tilda's Town is an online store that specializes in Magnolia stamps. We carry one of the largest inventories in USA and the world with over 1000 Magnolia stamps in stock at all times. This week Tilda's Town is offering a lucky winner a $15 Gift Certificate! With a new collection to be released very soon, I can imagine someone is going to be very happy with this prize! Thank you so much Tilda's Town

Now, lets hand it over to Camilla to introduce the challenge for this week.

Hi there!
This week we have a "real" challenge for you!

It is time for pop-up cards.

I, Camilla, will now show you how I made my pop-up card for this challenge.
(There have been made many tutorials before of how to make a pop-up card, so I am not the first).
First I start with decorating the card inside. For this card I wanted to make an Australian scene:)
If you look really closely you can see the Blue Mountains in the back, and also the typical Australian red sand on the roads;)
Now we only need some Aussie girls!
The stamps I have used:
Tilda with her Kookaburra (Australia Collection 2012)
Kangaroo Tilda (Australia Collection 2012)
Tilda with UGG shoes (Australia Collection 2012)
Waterfall Background (Tilda & Edwin's Pet/Animal Collection 2009)
♥♥♥
I have also cut out some paper strips. They measures from 8mm-1cm wide.
And two of them are folded like this: 3cm, 3,5 cm, 3 cm, 3,5 cm and a small piece of paper left to glue it all together. I will show you how under. For the Tilda with UGG shoes who will stand abit further out than the two others, I have folded her paper strip like this: 3 cm, 5 cm, 3 cm, 5 cm + a bit extra to glue it all together.
Here you can see that I put some glue on to the extra bit of paper.
And put the paper strips together like this.
Here are all three fasten.
Then I want to fasten the paper on to Tilda. I add the glue to the paper like you see over.
And puts it gently on Tilda like this.

Now I want to fasten Tilda in to the card. And I have to put glue on to the two sides of the paper that will be fasten inside the card.
Like this.
Then I continue and do the same with the other Tildas.
I will show you how it looks from different angles under.

And here they are, put right into the beautiful Australian nature:)
I hope that my explanation was easy to understand.
And that you are inspired to give it a try!

Thank you so much Camilla for a brilliant tutorial!!

Some of the DT had a go at these during the week and we all agree, they are worth the little extra time as we all had fabulous results.
If you would like to try a pop up card slightly different to Camilla's, there will be some links at the end of the post for you to check out..

  10. In order to find best modern designs kitchens, you must search a lot and in order not to make a lot of effort in the searches, I advise you to deal with Amr Helmy Company.
